Contractor Requirements
TBCRN is an established professional referral network. We only accept contractors who meet our minimum standards for licensing, insurance, reputation, and local experience.
TBCRN Is Built for Established Professionals
The Tampa Bay Contractor Referral Network is designed to connect homeowners, property managers, businesses, and other clients with established local professionals they can feel confident hiring.
Because our reputation is attached to every referral we make, acceptance into the TBCRN network is not automatic. We are intentionally selective.
TBCRN is not designed for brand-new companies, part-time contractors, unverified service providers, or businesses still trying to establish their reputation. To be considered for membership, your company must meet ALL of the minimum standards below.
Minimum Requirements to Join TBCRN
Every requirement below is mandatory. Meeting them does not automatically guarantee acceptance, but failing to meet any of them will disqualify an application.
Active Licensing & Insurance
Your company must maintain all state, county, municipal, or trade licenses required to legally perform the services you offer. Appropriate business and liability insurance must also remain active at all times. Licensing or insurance that expires, lapses, is suspended, or otherwise becomes invalid may result in removal from the TBCRN network.
Customer Response Within 48 Hours
TBCRN referrals must be treated professionally and promptly. Contractors are expected to make a reasonable attempt to contact referred customers within 48 hours of receiving the referral. Our clients should never feel ignored after being connected with a TBCRN contractor.
4.7+ Google Rating With At Least 20 Reviews
Your Google Business Profile must have a minimum 4.7-star Google rating, at least 20 legitimate customer reviews, and an established and active Google Business Profile. This requirement helps us verify that your company has an existing history of customer satisfaction and a reputation that can be independently reviewed. These are minimum requirements, not targets.
Professional Website & Online Presence
Every TBCRN contractor must maintain a professional online presence that accurately represents their company. At minimum, contractors should have a professional business website, accurate company contact information, clearly presented services, professional branding, an active Google Business Profile, a consistent online identity, and a trustworthy digital presence customers can independently verify. A basic social media page alone does NOT replace the requirement for a professional company website.
5+ Years Serving the Tampa Bay Area
Applicants must have at least five years of established experience serving customers within the Tampa Bay region or the local service area they are applying to represent. TBCRN is looking for businesses with a demonstrated local track record — not companies that recently opened solely to pursue referrals.
Proven Professional Reputation
We look for established companies with verifiable work history, dependable communication, and strong customer service. TBCRN may review factors such as service quality, reputation, customer complaints, communication, service coverage, professionalism, trade availability, and the current needs of the network before approving a company.
Meeting the minimum requirements does not automatically guarantee acceptance. TBCRN may review factors such as service quality, reputation, customer complaints, communication, service coverage, professionalism, trade availability, and the current needs of the network before approving a company.
We Want Established Local Companies
The strongest TBCRN members are businesses that have already built a reputation in their community and want an additional source of qualified opportunities. We're looking for companies that:
TBCRN should feel like a professional network of established companies — not an open contractor directory.
That Doesn't Necessarily Mean You're Out.
If you have an established company, a strong reputation, proper licensing and insurance, and the experience TBCRN is looking for — but your website or online presence isn't where it needs to be — we can help.
Growth Marketing works with TBCRN contractors to build professional lead-generation websites designed to do more than simply make your company look good. These websites are designed to generate calls, quote requests, organic traffic, and new customers directly for YOUR business. Qualified TBCRN applicants can receive significant preferred pricing through Growth Marketing.
IMPORTANT: YOUR WEBSITE LEADS BELONG TO YOU
Any leads generated directly through a contractor's Growth Marketing-built website, SEO campaign, online presence, advertising, Google visibility, or other independent marketing channels belong exclusively to that contractor.
These leads are NOT considered TBCRN referrals and are NOT subject to TBCRN referral fees. Growth Marketing services and TBCRN referral services are separate.
Meet the Requirements?
If your company meets these standards and you're ready to represent your business as part of the Tampa Bay Contractor Referral Network, we'd like to hear from you.
Applications are reviewed individually. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance or category availability.
